Island Life is very similar to Chap Pilot. Is he saying "Ruby" at the beginning, as in Ruby the Rabbitfoot?

    Pretty interesting collection.

The first song was on Kevin's instagram along with the other IR tracks so it's definitely a proper outtake. Nice to see it being released.

There is some deep, deep bass that I'm sure you're not hearing on a laptop. It's pretty unique from anything else he's done up to now.
I usually come around pretty quickly - but the last two albums, which I do like, have not resonated as deeply as Paralytic Stalks, and to a lesser extent, Lousy.

That's understandable. I still don't like Innocence Reaches really. Probably the only reason I like Aureate Gloom so much is because I've always been a big fan of Television and some of the other influences on that one.

People would appreciate Kevin Barnes’ music more if he released less of it.
Ah, that good old trick where you replace "I" with "People" to make it sound like your opinions are popular and warranted.

He could probably be even more prolific if he wanted to. Hopefully we'll see an increasing amount of releases with this new digital label (to Pitchfork's annoyance)

Are they obligated to criticize Paralytic Stalks in every of Montreal review? I swear, it comes up every time they write about the band.
