Default The Incredible Skeletal Setlist Thread

This isn't one of those dream setlist things, oh no, I want to hear what you guys think they're ACTUALLY going to play on this tour. Limit yourself to 15 songs. Go!

    1. Nonpareil of Favor
    2. Wicked Wisdom
    3. For Our Elegant Caste
    4. Gallery Piece
    5. Gronlandic Edit
    6. Tender Fax
    7. Du og Meg
    8. Suffer for Fashion
    9. Mingusings
    10. An Eluardian Instance
    11. Triphallus, to Puncuate!
    12. Plastis Wafer
    13. Heimdalsgate Like a Promethean Curse
    14. The Party's Crashing Us
    15. Id Engager

When they started the Fauna tour they were starting the set with most of Fauna straight through. I think they'll do a lot of Skeletal Lamping stuff just like that, and they've already been playing Nonpareil (back when it was Paradigm Kisses), Plastis Wafer, Mingusings, Eluardian, Elegant Caste, and what not live. So, I would say that setlist is pretty realistic.

In my mind, they don't play the SL songs... Like, they play the "relevant" bits in whatever order... Know what I mean? Like, for example, they never played the ending of An Eluardian Instance... But maybe they'll stretch the Pussy Freak part into whatever other song, but not the "inbreeding of ideas" part... Something like that. Pretty jammy stuff. Then I've no idea how they'd do that, since they couldn't really have a setlist to look at... That would be tricky but interesting. Come on guys (and Dottie), you can pull that off!!!!

Also, Elias, I hope they'll play more than 15 songs... Or maybe you're not counting the encores, uh?
They've got to play more stuff from Sunlandic Twins, too... And they need an instrumental for costume change purposes somewhere in there.

I wouldn't count on any Sunlandic songs. I'm expecting all HF and SL tracks on this tour.

    5. Cato as a Pun
    6. Nonpareil of Favor
    7. Plastis Wafers
    8. Womens Studies Victims
    9. The Past is a Grotesque Animal
    10. Death is Not a Parallel Move

    12. Olso In the Summertime
    13. Labyrinthian Pomp
    14. Alter Eagle

I've only heard 1/3rd of those songs in a live setting, so that would be an amazing set. Moving from jamming to psychedelic to depressing to inspiring to Georgie fruit.

They attempted to bring Wraith back last year, there's that rock-n-roll version on the San Antonio show, but I think after that they abandoned it completely. I'd be surprised to see it resurface. I think they might have played it in Europe afterwards a few times, but I think I remember reading somebody saying they wouldn't be playing that song, at least in the US, anymore.

Not to keep harping about old songs, but I could almost see one or two re-worked older songs, done up with drum machines, for variety. Animal Collective's been doing this well, completely reworking songs like "Grass"

I've never heard Wraith or Past... I always showed up on the wrong nights in SF, I guess. I dig the rock version of Wraith. I almost put No Conclusion, but the odds of that...not very realistic.

I think I'll be happy with whatever is played. I wouldn't mind hearing old songs, because I never had that luxury in the past, seeing as I've only been a fan for a few years, but I'm doubtful. Stuff from Aldhils seems like it would fit, though.

They still played Wraith in Europe last year, though. They played it about 3 times faster than on the record too - it was over before it had started. Waaaaazaaaaaaammmmmmm! It sounded great, and I don't think anyone cared about the commercial (it only aired in the US), or the controversy (which went way over our poor european heads), and we don't have Outback Steakhouses anyway.

i doubt you'll hear "The Past..." much anymore.

    if this happened...

    13. Nonpareil of Favour
    14. The Past...
    15. She's a Rejecter -- Leafling

... i would ascend into heaven. that would be the most glorious trip at a live show ever. even if they weren't in a row, but at least all in the same set, i could pass on with ease.

so far my single favorite live moment has been Spoon playing "The Ghost of You Lingers." it was a hypnotic trip unlike anything i've ever experienced. i'm hoping that the new oM set will top it at some point. i think it easily could.
