Sorry to be sort of smart assy but Lake Superior is the only Great Lake touching Minnesota, the rest are by Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Canada, and I'm sure some other states I am not mentioning. Oh yeah and the band isn't from minnesota either. I don't think Neutral Milk hotel is either

Well, we certainly have 10, 000 lakes, though not all of them are Great. I was just up near Lake Superior, actually. The woods were gorgeous but the lake was still supercold.
Hey, does the 6th Great Lake still have a forum? Sometime a few years ago a bill almost passed in congress to make Lake Champlain the 6th Great Lake. As a lifetime Great-Lakes area resident that made me feel a bit less special. Oh well, the 6th Great Lake record was great enough to make up for their usurping name. It certainly tided me over till the new Essex Green record.
