      With some distance, I think IR is still really great, but it's also too long and to me , the pacing is off.

      Especially on the heels of the super succinct Aureate Gloom, which has ended up being my favorite OM album after Hissing Fauna.

      When I listen to let's relate through to les chants de maldoror I'm convinced IR is Kevin's best album, but then it gets lost with Sport and Ambassador and never quite recovers. The former just doesn't make sense to me. The verse and chorus are beautiful, but my brain can't make sense of there being together. It seems too arbitrary. That's a strange thought given how disparate Kevin can get within one song, but it just stands out to me as needing finessing in a way his other songs don't.

      Ambassador drags and feels inconsequential, even though on its own, I like it enough. Chaos is cool, but despite it having a hundred changes, once you've heard Kevin run through everything once, it just more or less repeats. Or at least, that's the only reason I can think of that I never feel particularly compelled to listen to it. In terms of ideas, it's out of control, so creative... but it also pales next to some of Aureate's similarly long, band-y compositions?

      I liked Trashed quite a bit, but it's also ever so slightly obnoxious, and I wish it didn't just taper off into remix territory.

      The following tracklist is pretty much perfect to me:

      let's relate
      it's different for girls
      gratuitous abysses
      my fair lady
      les chants de maldoror
      def pacts
      nursing slopes
      chap pilot

      Aww a little sad that Kevin thinks a master piece is beyond him at this point.

      Thanks for the link. I think it is important to note that he said he thinks he has never put out a great record, which I think many of us here would disagree with.

      So was Ambassador Bridge actually used in a commercial or something?
