    hey people...

ive been reading the old townhall board here for years (been a big e6 fan since 2001) and finally decided to take the plunge basically cause the music tapes resurrection.

now while im super happy about all the positive reviews i just cant believe none of these sites have mentioned 'Cumulonimbus (Magnetic Tape For Clouds)' which is personally my favorite song on the album, and probably my favorite song of the year...And while im happy bitchfork gave the album a 7.9 i think its should be more like an 8.9. they gave ITAOTS a 8.7 or so at first and then gave the reissue a 10.0. i know ive been plugging the album like crazy over at the collected animals board so i guess we all do what we can.

anyway, i hope you people take me in as one of you own as my e6 knowledge is great and i enjoy long winded posts. hello from vermont :]

why couldn't pitchfork just give it an 8? But whatever, it's still great.

I think Pitchfork is wrong about "In an Ice Palace." I primarily know Magnus for making air organs, the kind used on "Freeing Song by Reindeer," I believe. My best guess for "...Ice Palace" is the homemade tape organ. Also, I would not say the song has "the jazzy rhythms of the mid '60's." It's in 5/4 but it's not jazzy. More like eastern European.

this album has really grown on me, but the main thing i'm disappointed about is the lack of liner notes/story/comic/lyrics, etc. with nomad i loved sitting down and reading along with the comic.

oh well! it's nice to have them back.

I remember hearing this was coming, but had no idea it was out yet. So, I'll have to pick it up.
but yes it's nice it's getting good reviews.
hopefully I won't get such weird looks when I ask for "The Music Tapes" this time.

Clouds and Tornadoes is on Metacritic. A starred review, 83, universal acclaim.
