how do you play it? the only way i know is 2nd/4th fret alternating dgbe, but it is so annoying to switch in and out of quickly. can anybody suggest a variation?

sometimes i do it like this:
e ---7---
B ---5---
G ---4---
D ---6---
A ---4---
E ---x---

thanks dudes
my problem lies in being a piano player who picked up guitar less than a year ago.
i don't know how to add a 7th (if that's how you say it in guitar world) or really anything like that. i just know your basic majors, minors, flats/sharps.. the rest i have to watch for or try and find on the internet. it's not always fun.
but yeah that bar chord is much easier on the fingers, thanks
