Great song. I love this album too. It was the first Apples I got and I never looked back.

Do you think that the lyrics point to any one specific person's paranoia over Y2K or is it more of a speaking for us all type of thing?

I always interpreted it as a little insult to 'simple-minded, naive'-type people.

I think its about Jeff Mangum. In that Creative Loafing article Laura Carter talks about him being really worried about Y2K and how he would listen to all the conspiracy theorists on the radio talk about it. After I read that I automaticly thought The Apples In Stereo song "Y2K" must have been about him. I think its sort of a friendly song though.

"Questions & Answers" catapults that EP. That is my favorite Apples song ever.

yeah, Questions and Answers is possibly one of my very favourite songs. Whenever I have to impress people using only one song, or I try to explain what music I listen to, it's always Questions and Answers that gets a playing, because it's one of those songs that's great enough to be both immediate and lasting.
Same for most of Hilary Sidney's songs, I've found - Winter Must Be Cold and Rainfall are also both my favourite songs on their respective albums...

definitely. thing with Hilarie is, whenever her songs are on Apples' records, they are consistently among the very best if not THE best on the records. Without fail whatsoever. She has a crazy solid track record.

Her Wallpaper Reverie and Pyramid Landings are the only things I've enjoyed by Schneidy. His lyrics are leave a bit to be desired. Still, Ruby sends me bouncing like a rubber kangaroo
