Gosh I'm busy on the Beulah board tonight. Thought the stats needed a little boost.

It'll take a real Beulah nut to answer this, but, whatever, here goes:

You know the ba ba ba ba ba ba ba bit at the start of this song? I have this vague memory of hearing it tagged onto the start of a different Beulah song, maybe one of the Heartstrings ones, before Coast came out, when they were doing a radio session or something. It's like they had it knocking around and weren't sure which song to stick it on.

Anyone else remember this and maybe which song it was? I know this is a long shot. Of course I may have just dreamt it so feel free to tell me I'm talking shit.

You didn't dream it Sam, you have a good memory and would have to be British to know about this 'cos it's from a UK radio session for the late, great John Peel.

The song was Warmer, and the Peel version had the same fuzz bass, flute and vocal ba-da-ba intro that was later used (re-recorded) on Good Man. Other songs on this 1999 Peel session were Disco and Maroon Bible.

Thanks Steve, it's wonderful to finally have that confirmed.

I must have somehow neglected to tape that session off the radio because I think I only ever heard it once.

I just listened to Warmer and imagined it with the intro, and yeah - it worked, in my head! But it's such a cool little bit of music anyway.
