hahahsdhhf this sounds so dumb but: I was taking a look at all the elephant 6 bands i haven't listened to and i looked at some marshmallow coast reviews in pitchfork and they were like 2.3 and worse... But i still just have some weird urge to check out a bajillion elephant 6 bands cuz there's such a good reputation and stuff. So ...................... is marshmallow coast good?

Check out Ride the Lightning...it's the best Marshmallow Coast album (of just Andy singing/writing). It's still in print on Misra and got favorable reviews.

M Coast/Say it in Slang is also excellent, and undervalued.

They're in my top 5 e6 bands. Don't ever type www.pitchforkmedia.com in your address bar. Ever. They are by far the most idiotic, unknowing, obnoxious group of webcritics on the planet.

I really really like ""Say It In Slang", the new one. I tried one of their early ones, "Seniors and Juniors" and wasn't a fan, it sounded like "Elmer Fudd - the Musical" but "Say It In Slang" is brilliant.

The new album is pretty easy to lean into. I recommend Ride The Lightning. It's their best effort, next to New Slang. Just don't go into it expecting anything typical of Elephant 6. (which is a stupid thing to do anyway). I lik them. Great for evening lounging.

And while I diagree with Pitchfork's M Coast reviews, I wouldn't go as far as Pinnochio, who speaks as if one of Pitchfork's writers has in fact fucked his girlfriend with a pepperoni extender. They are the single contender for music review site of the year, century and forevermore.

There's a book of Lester Bang's reviews that I read. He is the best ever. But the problem is, he made other critics feel like it was OK to start interjecting themselves into the review.

i have antistar and i really enjoy it. andy is a good songwriter. it is great music to have palying while homeworking.
