Hiya. First post in the Beulah section for me and I haven't read the whole way down the board so stop me if I'm covering old ground here, but I noticed that there's a real paucity of Beulah chords/tabs available online so I'm going to attempt to have a crack at them myself if you don't mind! Any comments/corrections would be much appreciated. Cheers.
'Score From Augusta':
Intro:
D, G [with the Gs coinciding with the 'ahhahhh']
D
the room wallpaper, the pages of your letters
--------G
which you once said
D
wrestle with the bodies that wash like unchained rivers
--G
against your shore
----D
an army is waiting
-----G
the secret places
------D----------------G
that gently twist around your bed
-----A---------------G
the south will be spared
D---------------C
bullets flying fast from her eyes
G------------------A
with that we're fine,
(Verse 2 as verse 1)
we etch our names in candles
they're heart shaped and they flicker
inside our chests
the ghost of our brothers and tales which are hidden
much like ours
a bother’s fight in a holy field
where the new loves come
and their old loves go
A----------------G
and they just wilt
-----D------------------------C
like Spanish moths with dew in their eyes
G---------------A----F#m---------G
tears for our lord and for the ones he spares
D-------------------------------G-----------------------A
when he passed away its off off off with their heads,
------D------------G
and whores he loves
-----------A----------------------------------G
and the lepers he claims that he can cure
D--------------G
cannot compete
-----------A--------------------------------------------G
with the humid summer days that we would share.
[then D and G all the way out]

'Sunday Under Glass':
------A---------------G-------------F#m
The scenery rides by just like floats lost in a parade
--------------F-----------------------------A
Where the palms and tumbleweed sail
D-----------------F------------------------------------A
Right past our homes they stretch and they fade
D------------F----------------G-------------------E
Rolling like movie credits far beneath the clear skies
A Bm
How weary does the west carry
D
So many sights yeah let's see the sights
A Bm
Slow prayers with no answers
F-----------------C------E------A
Must go somewhere far away
---------F#m------------A
In the wild west is a slow pan
-----------D-------------B
And the sunshine is fake
-----------F#m-----------A
And the ocean is just painted
-------D------------------B
On a backdrop downtown
The miniature scrawls blur
From the set lights and the heat
Where the summers packed with charades
Right where the sidewalks crack and they meet
Just like a sad sad actress right before her last scene
How weary does the west carry
So many sights yeah let's see the sights
Slow prayers with no answers
Must go somewhere far away
---------F#m------------A
In the wild west is a slow pan
-----------D-------------B
And the sunshine is fake
-----------F#m-----------A
And the ocean is just painted
-------D------------------B--------------D
On a backdrop somewhere downtown
[then A, Bm, D through to the end]

D, D, D, G
A

------------------G
time with the cheated
D
no one wants to hear
----------------------------G
about your hardwood floors
in stalls of the magic markers
boy and girls come and go like cards of fame
all youve got is a pretty name girl
surely killed off in the very first scene
on the porch with the smokers
hardy talk gets much older
clock strikes twelve say dontcha feel so well?
yeah
its looking very full
time with the cheated
no one wants to hear
about your hardwood floors

'Emma Blowgun's Last Stand':
Intro:
D, E, G
Second intro/bit between each verse (if you see what I mean):
D, Bm, G
D----------------------------------E7-----------G
goodness knows its been a wonderful run
-----D------------------------------E7------------------G
the autumn lakes where the children were swans
------D--------------------------------------------------------------------E7------------G
your mothers convictions and your fathers predictions dont seem so insane
------D-------------------------------------------------------------E7---------G
they laugh they say your treasures are fake but don't throw it away
you've been framed with a beautiful name
you've been saved but youve lost your head
with halos and friends the trinity saves but three is a crowd
you flirt you drink you can't stop your winking at the boys at the bar
all you need is a gun and a car
a country song if you don't have a heart
my cowboys and indians and the falls and aminions where the highways are far
when all you know your shadows a ghost don't let it scare you away

'Calm Go The Wild Seas':
D-----------------Bm
Everything's alright
D---------------------------------Bm
It takes a strength beyond stregth to smile
D------------------------------Bm
I'm missing you like hurricanes
D----------------------------------Bm
I give them names but their waves keep rolling
D------------------A
On and on and on and on
----Bm
My sails are tattered, they're worn bone thin
[linking bit with 'ooooh's etc: D, A, Bm, G]
Em------------G
I will be the king
Em-----------------G
All I need is the comfort of a stage
Em------------------G
Smile and take a drag
Em------------------------G
Laugh and say we're only having fun
[next link bit with wailing violins or whatever: Bm and D repeated...then ending on G, A, G, A]
I watch the winter pass
From under the umbrella you left
The winds are dying a slow death
Cut my heart out but it's still beating
On and on and on and on
My sails are tattered
They're worn bone thin
You will be the queen
You will be guilded by the sword
My prints are unique
You've been touched time and time again

C#m------------------------G#m
How, how, how does it feel?

A thousand miles closer to hell
Over land
they pass God's bluff and cross the basin
Half by sea
they follow the coast and through the gate where
B------------------------A
Gold is coated with gold
---------E--------B
on the languid hills
-------------------------A-------------E
where they wait for hours and hours
B-------------------------A---------E----------B
cool gray ladies from shirley's learn us cheer
---------------------A------------E
and they sat for hours and hours
["ba ba ba" fill - D, C#m, Bm, A]
The luck of the roaring camp
and how they taught the outcasts of the flats
in their poker face
Cannot hide the fever of
the children's crusade
slow, slower than slow
days spill into one another
Gold is coated with gold
on the languid hills
where they wait for hours and hours
cool gray ladies from Shirley's loan us cheer
and they sat for hours and hours

The devil takes a bite out of this here land
Every hour on the hour
The good kind of suicide, dear
The adjectives
-------A-------G--------F#m
They pound next to pageants
----F-------------G------A
To those who never place
-----A------------G---------F#m
For those who come in second

A mistress all your lives
D-----------------------------------A
Our lullabies will never move you to tears
D7---------------------------------------[riff]
The jokes bounce right off you
A, [riff]
Brassy fill: D, E (x4)
All next to pageants
To those who never place
To those who come in second
A mistress all your life
Our lullabies will never move you to tears
the jokes bounce right off you
like dirty words
An anecdote that we share
We've told before
Our destination's still unknown

Em-C---Eb

I was a kid
and you were my hero
Bathed in rinestones and brand new chinos
I was young, drunk and easy
We would tool but our holsters were empty
And I'll do I'll do
but a little won't help you now
I'll do
Em---------F----------A
'Long the wayside gonna change our names

It comes on heavy like a symphony
Em-----F---G
At the CiniMart

Like highway signs we post along the way
And wonder were they've gone
Even though we don't mean what we say

Like bombs and hand grenades

just dreaming wishing trying to close your eyes
think of me
pretend that we’re both older than we seem"

Greetings,
I run Indie Guitar Tabs and am happy to see that you've already found my site for some Beulah tabs. "sixpac" recently emailed me to tell me about the work he had posted here, so I posted these tabs to my site for easy viewing. He's done a great job and all owe him some thanks for the time he put into putting these together.
I'll be glad to post any more Beulah tabs that people have (I've had requests for the Handsome Western States album). For now, enjoy what's been posted:

Cheers!
