i just saw beulah
i loved it so much
until the singer became a complete asshole
i couldnt dance
i couldnt talk
i wanted to leave

the keyboardist came up to me after the show, he is one of the nicest people i have ever met. he thanked me for being there and for liking their music. it was very touching. he is a sincere man and it made my night that he did that.

Yeah, I've read that Miles is a pretty big prick. Apparently there was some incident where him and Bill Swan tried to break chairs over each other's heads backstage or something. Good singer, though.

I caught this Bright Eyes show in Cincinnati where the singer ran offstage and cried because one person heckled him. I mean, dude's in a room full of teenage girls that want to do him, and one person gets out of line and he can't handle it. Effing egomaniacs.

well for one he refused my request of ballad of the lonely argonaut after he asked what we want to hear because apparently my request sucks. he told someone that if they want to rock out, they have to rock out normally, it just went on and on about how great he is etc

thats odd becasue at the show i saw the beulah (miles) right guy didnt take a request becasue he said it was too painfully close to something else but he let the guy who requested go up and play tambourine on stage and although he had an air or prickishness he was very apologetic but the show did make me feel vaugely uncomfortable too

I'm going to see Beulah for the first time tomorrow in Chicago.
I really, really hope I don't have any "asshole" stories to tell. I've been really looking forward to seeing them.

No, I didn't even know High Water Marks dropped out! How disappointing.

I live in Wisconsin, so I don't come down to Chicago that often. I made an exception since I might not get a chance to see Beulah again...

Caught the show last night, and Beulah was sooooo awesome. They played a good mix from the 4 albums. A lot of the stuff seemed like it was played slower than on the record, but I didn't mind in my state of mind. It was cool to hear the older suff have the Yoko treatment, even though I know a lot of people aren't into the new one.

Miles wasn't being mean at all. He mentioned inbetween a couple of songs how much he liked playing in Newport and at the Southgate House, which is usually a cheesey thing for bands to do, but he seemed sincere. They played a pretty long encore, and invited a lot of the auidence to come onstage and shake tamborines.

It was one of the best shows I've seen in a while.

i was also at the chicago beulah show and can corroborate its awesomeness.

the bass player for JV reminded me of jack black. and miles reminds me of quentin tarantino.

and NoHarshChemicals i've been meaning to comment on your sig. i love against me!.

I thought JV's bassist looked like the little brother from Sixteen Candles, whatever that actor's name is, he's been in a ton of stuff. Too much of a ham for me. If I wasn't already a fan, I think I'd be wondering which one John Vanderslice was. Like, "come see John Vanderslice's bass player (featuring John Vanderslice).

I always thought Miles kinda looked like Mr. Bean.

I second the post above that said that Circulatory System/ Instruments/ Pipes put on the all time classic concert.

uh, bedbug, maybe you should just appreciate that the man is playing three different instruments at once while also singing backup vocals.

miles and the rest of the band are the most nice and kind band I've ever talked to. they also promised to send me and t-shirt for free.

I just can't understand how everyone picture him as a giant shit. it's the biggest mystery in the world!

god I love beulah!
