I got my album back a few weeks ago and I'm in love with the mastering. He actually got me to enjoy my own recordings, which is no small task. I highly highly recommend Derek.

If you're considering him it'd be best to just ask him what he uses. I'm pretty sure there's a Massive Passive and and I know he used some Waves things for multiband compression and (very tasteful) limiting. He used to have two Distressors but no longer, I believe.

Don't get me started on Distressors. BEST... COMPRESSOR.... EVER.

how were his rates these days? what gear is he using and what formats can he take these days? i tried to get ahold of him a long time ago to master some stuff but never heard from him which sucks as the only person in b-ham who i would let master my studios projects moved and im looking for a new go to guy. i have a project that im finishing up after about 8 months of work. all the tracks sound diiferant as hell and its going to need a serious mastering job to make it flow right.

why in gods name would he get rid of his distressors?!!?! a couple channels of those are on my to buy list for sure.
