I'm betting this has been talked about before, but does anyone have the link to listen to Mangum's broadcasts on the New York radio station? He did them a year or two ago...
Wasn't there a show where he put on a drone for about 2 hours? For some strange reason I want to hear that....

You know defgav, you could have just downloaded the .rm file to save you checking for buffering, etc. That'd probably have been easier.

I only made it an hour into the One note show, but I guess it did get me to listen to things a bit differently.

hey defgav
dude you shoulda promoted a bit more for selling these in cdr format, i woulda bought them along time ago.
one question tho are the songs split up into different tracks or are the cds just divided by individual shows?
i was planning on somehow getting them into a format that would go onto my ipod, but that would give me an extreme headache.
this is really helpful
thanks defgav... ill most likely order them tonight or tomorrow

cool, thanks.
the shows on the discs i offer are broken up into segments.. so usually 3 or 4 big files per show.

Yeah, but that gives you..
something like..
rtsp://archive.wfmu.org/archive/MU/mu021014.rm?start=0:9:23
.. which always gives me a 404 or "page not found"
am i doing something wrong?

Different protocol. Nevermind.
If you're on *nix you could use something called streamgrabber but otherwise don't worry :P

i friend of mine purchased these shows from someone, somewhere out in cyberspace on a data disc...he put the shows on there, then filled the rest up with various albums by people featured on the shows and other smithsonian field recordings and so forth....very nicely done, but had to be played on the dvd player....
