Hello, i was wondering if anyone had transcripions of any brass parts in neutral milk hotel songs, any songs really.

there is in kim cooper's book. or somewhere on a website. I know I've seen a photo of a scott spilane horn part.

umm lets see
do you guys know the trumpet key
do you want them in the b flat key
or in normal concert (c) notes?
i think the best way for me to do it is too put the note name (concert c) and the fingering of the note...
unless you guys want differently ill try and get this up tomorrow, since i dont have it written down

i have the fool, i'll post it when i get a chance, that is if nobody beats me to it. i also have holland 1945 transcribed for the trumpet and trombone but my transcriptions aren't real legable.
EDIT: *Disclaimer* I am neither a trumpet or trombone player(I did play the tuba and baritone about 5 years ago, although since then i have had little experience with brass instruments) Therefore I am not sure how acurate the transcriptions are. I do however play the guitar and I tabed out all the aformentioned peices before transcribing them. I could post these tabulations also if anyone would helpful.

i guess i dont have the third part memorized i would figure it out but my baby sister is trying to sleep in the next room, if its ok ill finish it in the morning....
its basically the same as the first part but the last 8 notes or so are different... when you haev this stuff^ its pretty easy to find the new notes but ill put it up anyway tomorrow
if these arent clear im sorry, ask me questions. this is the best way i could think of writing them out

I tabbed the main part. It's in guitar tab, because that's the easiest for me to write. It's not actually the guitar part. It's the main trumpet part (the other instruments play other things).
It's all played on the A string, for simplicity's sake.

no the fingerings are the same and its in the right key
it only really applies if you are reading the music. and thats not how i tabbed it out, so it doesnt really matter.
the notes i put down are the real notes being played but if a trumpet player were to read those notes on a page it would say the notes are a whole step lower. even though they are the same. a C would be a D, an A would be a G ect.
why this happens is beyond me.... but it doesnt apply too much, the only problem that might occur is if you where trying to read the notes from say a book that teaches you how to read music...
so really if you just follow my fingerings youll be good.
im sorry this is a really hard thing to explain...

I just got a trumpet, so i transcribed a few songs.

It doesn't make sense like this, just paste it into a simple test document and use a font that has equal spacing for all letters; then it's all set up. I'll post some more stuff later.
And, seriously, try tabbing some stuff yourself.

maybe contact dadelman from the "Cover show" thread -- they nailed the brass parts in Pittsburgh during their recent blast through the entire ITAOTS album. Probably did it by ear rather than writing it down, but who knows. See

Oh man, I'm glad to have found these! I gave up trumpet for a lot of years, couldn't find fun/good/interesting enough music to play. . if you trumpet players have any other sort of music to suggest, please do! But these tabs are great, thanks.
