Since it is now acceptable to ask how much a tape is worth (see "Hype City Soundtracks" thread), I'm curious:
How much would my demo tapes be worth. For a listing of tapes, pics, tracklists, info, etc. see:
http://www.e6townhall.com/viewthread.php?tid=6705
I'm not selling, only curious. Also curious about the sketchbooks and art I have from Will.
Based on what I've gathered while perusing this board for the last couple of months, I have tapes that don't exist otherwise.

You could probably get $100 on eBay.

A lot more than $100, that's for sure.
Considering that drawing of Jeffs "went" for like 500 bucks on ebay...

Damn, here I thought you were finally able to share them...

A huge amount if you got some publicity.

I'll give you my first born son.
Oh wait, you're just curious. Um...
I think the only way to truly find out how much they're worth would be to sell them.
Publicity shouldn't be a problem, just tell Pitchfork about it. They get well over a hundred thousand hits a day.

Only $100? No way. The Cranberry Lifecylce tape alone would go for around that. I'm no Antiques Roadshow appraisal specialist, but I would think that realistically if you sold the stuff seperately on eBay (as opposed to as a lot) you could probably get between $500 and $1000.

They certainly would go for more than a ITAOTS vinyl, lollerz.

The oil on canvas by Will that I talked about in an earlier thread.

Pfft, lucky? That shit would give me nightmares. It'd be on ebay in a quick second.

I put it on ebay a couple months ago (with a ridiculous reserve so it wouldn't sell) to see what the interest was. Only one person put it in their watched list and no bids.

BTW, the little white guy in the bottom right corner is the figure that Will named "Alfred Hybrid" when I asked. He showed up in a couple of things that Will painted/drew.

For scale, the wood seen at the top of the photo are my roof joists (right term?) in the attic.

Yeah alfred, I do hope you send countless unsuspecting individuals up to your attic for whatever reason without first warning them about that canvas. That's where the real value of the painting is.

i could imagine people not bidding because they would need a good place to put it but would love it. but only one person watching it, shit, thats crazy.
I saw Will at a party last night.
is it common to just kinda bump into people like that?

Alfred, I'm curious. Are you trying to get an appraisal for insurance reasons, or are you just trying to feel smug?
Don't get me wrong, its awesome that you've held onto all these artifacts, but asking how much they are worth, and then spamming several different forums makes it sound like you just want to put a dollar amount to your happiness.
On the other hand, I'm sure my own personal jealousy of the possesions is making me feel this way.

I'm jealous of him myself, but I don't think he's doing anything particularly smug, it seems he's just curious. I mean, at one point he had to argue with his spouse about not tossing the lot, and now he finds out his silly little tapes and sketches could be worth quite a lot. I'd be interested too.
maybe jeff would approve sharing them if alfred_hybrid can work with e6 to use super hightech recording stuff and release all the cassettes on cds (even though some of us would rather have tapes, not me though,) and have them released on e6 even though nothings been released for a long time. then be good people and see if jeff wants any of the massive amount of money from them. then use that to restart e6 and donate the rest to charity or to some organization in louisiana or georgia.

You'd be surprised. I was talking with Ariel Pink and he told me he uses soulseek to find his old music because he lost track of the masters.

Smug is good right?
Don't worry about me, I'll lose interest and drop off of the board in a few more days.

That clinches it - you've got my vote for coolest username on this board.
