Ladybug fans...

I am a HUGE ladybug/essex green fan, and I just heard the Decemberists. If you like Ladybug, I think you'll find an interest in them. Not quite as good as Ladybug and Green, but I can hear some similarities. I can't stop listening to the Decemberists this week.

Tra la,
Heather

Maybe I should change my name to Heather. I obsessively like all those bands *and* I'm just about to bake an apple pie. We could be the Heather Townhall.

wasn't there a movie called "the heathers" about a cult called "the heathers" or something of the sort? its a disgrace to the name that i havnt seen it! nevertheless, i think we should have a "heathers only" club, and be wretchedly cruel to the rest of the board. i'll make membership cards, and we can have meetings where we eat apple pie and other baked goods. actually, anyone with any name can join!

You haven't seen 'Heathers'? It's fantastic. Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, croquet, death.

I got the most recent EG record and I really really like it, but I'm not sure how different it is to a Ladybug Transistor record - I think they are starting to blend into one for me!

hey man, cheer up. that sounds like a double helping of quality music. you should be celebrating ;-)

Hello Heathers and friends,

No, I don't think that the Decemberists sound EXACTLY like Ladybug or EG, but I'm sure fans of the LB and EG would definately enjoy them! I hear alot of Neutral Milk Hotel in the Decemberists as well. Agree, disagree? The vocals are definately not LB and EG-like. No?

I'm off to bake some cookies...

i wouldn't say we're into baking 'all of a sudden'... baking is a long lived tradition among our people.

Yours truly,
Heather

Heather,
perhaps we need to look into exactly how vanilla is grown. prehaps its a very laborous process. or perhaps vanilla is just so damn good that vanilla-people figure they can charge bundles and vanilla loving Heathers like ourselves will cough it up no matter what.

good luck on your paper, Heather!

from www.vanilla.com:

"Vanilla is the world's most labor-intensive agricultural crop, which is why it's so expensive. It will take up to three years after the vines are planted before the first flowers appear. The fruits, which resemble big green beans, must remain on the vine for nine months in order to completely develop their signature aroma. However, when the beans are harvested, they have neither flavor nor fragrance. They develop these distinctive properties during the curing process."

In other news, I've just finished grading 42 exams! It took me all day and lots of coffee and tea and a scone and two walks around the lake. No one got under an 85.

Love,
Heather

i still havn't baked since i said i felt like baking. please don't revoke my privlidge to use the name "Heather"! i promice to bake muffins tonight! banana chocolate chip, my very very secret recipie. super healthy, mega tasty. some vanilla, but i don't have to pay for it, so i can really go all out vanilla-wise.

thanks for the inside scoop on vanilla, ladylamentingonalawnchair! i feel very much smarted because of it. i think i'm going to go to vanilla.com to learn about this 'curing process'.

in other news, i love these shoes. they're maroon leather with a lighter colored "H" on the side. they're my official Heather shoes.

have a swell day, Heathers!

yours,
Heather

well, we are an exclusive bunch... but being a heather isnt so much like being part of a club, as being in a certain state of mind. and anyone who enjoys consuming chocolate chip cookie dough is much more then welcome to call themself "heather".

also, i baked an apple pie a few days ago, but the crust didnt really turn out. the filling is AMAZING though. right now im making myself a tuna casserole.

mm sounds good, ive often tought what a apple pie would taste like with a graham cracker crust, like from a cheese cake, or do you think that would even work??:o

hmm, it would sure be a lot easier than trying to make a flakey pastry crust, thats for sure. it might just work, thats not a bad idea, heather. mmm, pie. its just a shame that i dont have any vanilla ice cream to go with it.
