I heard it was a story about some girl who got lost in the snow in russia or something, but googling just turns up neutral-milk-hotel-related-stuff

well, i read an interpretation of "oh, comely" where goldeline and her siamese twin are wandering lost through the woods in winter, and they're eaten up by a bear. ("now we move to feel for ourselves inside some stranger's stomach.") is that what you're thinking of?

I think that's the way jeff talks about it in an interview.

It's a nice sentiment, one of the siamese twins comforting the other because they'll be together again soon in the monster's stomach.

wasn't she asking about the name itself, and not the siamese twin story? "rose wallace goldeline" comes up in several places.

Yeah, I've always wondered about Rose Wallace Goldeline's place in Oh Sister... I guess the "sisters" are the siamese twins also, but maybe not. Meh.

Yeah...probably the siamese twins are a boy and a girl. One is Rose Wallace Goldaline, and the boy is the narrator throughout "Oh Sister."
