The Apples are having a logo design contest!

Here's more info:

Send over your best logo/design to Shanna@yeproc.com with "Apples Logo Submission" as the subject!

Your logo/design will then be posted on The Apples in stereo photo page at www.YepRoc.com. Once submitted, you are in the running for a chance to have YOUR logo/design be the next The Apples In Stereo logo!

**Please submit 5" x 5" minimum, 72 dpi, rgb jpgs for proofing.**

Grand Prize: One (1) signed poster of the Artist, one (1) copy of the Artist's new CD OR double LP, and Two (2) tickets to The Apples in Stereo show of your choice (ticket availability permitting). The winning logo will also be used on appropriate merchandise by The Apples In Stereo and/or on their upcoming album, "New Magnetic Wonder." Credit for logo design will be included on the band's website and anywhere else credit is generally received.

Five (5) First Prizes: One (1) CD copy of the Artist's new CD OR double LP and one (1) poster signed by the Artist.

I sent in a couple with the title over a reel-to-reel background. I, too, am not that great with graphics (despite the senseless hours of my young life wasted drawing in ms paint while listening to "her wallpaper reverie").

i may do a couple more later.

so, uh... i ended up submitting 9 entries (there are four up right now, i just sent in the other five).

i currently feel a lovely combination of vague pride and utter embarassment.

the "a in s" one? that one's cool. very super nintendo.

the one that was posted earlier looks neat, too. it's an apple in the word "stereo"! quite nice.

yeah, the a in s one, thanks! i do like the one half-handed showed as well. it reminds me of old jazz records.

the first one you did i like, the black and white one. the one after mine is excellent as well.

most of mine were different simply different color variations on the same design (which i actually had to limit myself from doing too much -- otherwise, i would have had thirty entries).

all in all, i think i have about eight or nine distinct entries.

either way, the apples are one of my favorite bands. i'm glad i came up with a bunch of ideas.

but i have a feeling they might all get blown away within the next few days. there's about a week left, so hopefully some really awesome stuff will turn up.

holy shit these are some awesome logos!!! thank you everybody who has submitted them, i didn't expect we would have so much really good stuff! i'm thinking we should print up apples playing cards so we can use most of them!

i am very pleased with all of these so far-- i can't wait to see how they will look on t-shirts and stickers and stuff, there are enough great ones for years to come! any artists who have not sent anything in, we would love to see what you can come up with! this is also good for us to have designer contacts for future artwork and posters and stuff

shit i don't even know where to start picking winners yet! but the contest rules say we have to so i guess we are going to have to dust off our olympics score-cards from when we judged the figure-skating competitions, and get cracking soon enough (actually the apples did once sit on the judging panel of the costume contest at a sci-fi convention, which was pretty awesome)
