Don't know if this has been covered yet, but check out the Apples forum within this board.
Coolness...

Seems cool. He did that "Over The Waves" thing sometime recently too, didn't he? I'm not sure.
Seems an awful lot like Jeff is going back to the more e6 side of music, rather than his collages and field recordings.

yeah, when I saw that the story had been picked up by pitchfork, I just assumed it was a hoax.
Maybe it is. Perhaps it was actually a hologram of Jeff (probably generated by buttsex-chan) in the studio that was so life-like that even the members of the Apples in Stereo believed it was him.
And I'll third that emotion, the sound collages and field recordings only substantiate the rumors of insanity. And I don't particularly care for them.

Guys, the field recordings are great! So are collages... Some of my favourite music is noise and stuff...
But yeah.
My best guess is that sooner or later, Jeff Mangum will
a) Remove himself from music entirely
b) Join an existing e6-style band
c) Make NMH Mark 2 (new name no doubt).
The good news is he is definately heading towards B or C. I can't imagine he'll really remain in limbo for long.

Or he'll just enjoy his life and make music with his friends when they invite him to.

But exactly. He'll get involved with it again, I mean he's got talent, he can't keep away from his friends in the music scene.

maybe he joined circulatory system...
I don't see any indication that he'll join a band. He's been guesting on albums for a while now.

Also, he's been helping out friend's bands pretty much the whole time. His involvement witht he apples in stereo is a clue to nothing, really.

we are all just being rather presumptious. we cant really talk about what jeff is going to do. he has done live shows and participated on albums. thats about it.

Maine=Jeff Mangum? Buwahh??
But before this turns into one of those threads, i'd like to say I'm really pumped about this album, both because I love jeff and because i'm an apples fan. can't wait.
Wasn't he the drummer for Minor Threat?
Maybe I'm thinking of Jeff Tweedy.

He's the guy that played Harry Dunne in Dumb and Dumber...
I know, I know. It's stupid, but I just had to say it.
