hey friendly people, i went ahead and uploaded the Shannon's Monroe House Demos version of (I Bring) "Jennifer" since it sounds virtually identical to the circulating version (maybe slightly better quality if you listen side by side.)

Lots of other minor updates to the site, too.

And in the news I mention Elf Power has a show in Brooklyn at the end of the month. Not to get all "stalker" on Jeff, but I wonder if he'll make an appearance.. seeing as he joined them onstage at their last NYC-area show. Unfortunately I'm on the other side of the country anyways. But if somebody here goes, please bring a recording device of some sort or at least a cell phone that takes video clips. 'cause it'd be neat to see, if he does in fact show up.

i haven't gotten that 12 bar recording.. I emailed the dude about a trade, but haven't heard back yet.

the news banner was made from a nmh logo and i just made up the "w" and "s" in photoshop. i don't have a complete font for that, sorry.

Couple of notes about jennifer. First, thanks for getting the lyrics right. The version I posted on songmeanings.net was a little off in a few places. Second, the version I have of the unrealeased demo #1 version seems to skip on the "I bring jennifer oatmeal" bit, so it isn't included. Could anyone else with an MP3 version confirm this for me? I might have a burnt-then-ripped version....

Oh and last point. Though my lyrics were mostly wrong, its And I cough and I sneeze

wow, you're right, the mp3 i downloaded a couple years ago (Unreleased Demo #2) does seem to have that "oatmeal" line edited out. weird.

yeah, i googled for the lyrics, but couldn't find them, so i transcribed it out myself. I don't understand what you mean about that last point, though.. that's what I have on the page, isn't it?

at first, i almost thought the song had the line "blow me, Jennifer!" ...but of course it's really "lonely for Jennifer" :P

Ooh, and another thing. In your song list, it says "Rain(?)". perhaps whoever labeled a track that thought the section at the end of Snow Song Pt. 1 was another song? It goes

"Rain" is listed on Laura's setlist from the New Zealand show (it's online.. check the link in the bootography).. it's the first song listed, followed by Jeff's set as appears on the recording.. and i'm thinking it was actually the last song in Chris Knox's opening set, and Laura must've sat in with him on it. I know he's a huge Beatles fan, so I'd assume it's the Beatles song "Rain".. not sure if Jeff played on it. i probably shouldn't have even included it in the song list. There's a slim chance that it is actually a Jeff song that he planned to open his set with, but either changed his mind at the last minute, or maybe whoever recorded the set just wasn't able to record that first song.. but i kinda doubt it.
