Right, I mix for an alt-rock band called Firing Line. Me and their singer are madly into NMH and they want to cover a NMH song. Because the first gig is so close we have to stick to what we already know, which is Oh Comely, Holland 1945 and Bucket.

The band is alternative rock, influences things like Metallica, Tiger Lou, Pixies, Muse (lots of it), radiohead, nmh, etc.

The gig will feature us (alternative rock), and two other bands. First is a Punk band and the second is a Soft-Rock band.

What do you think? We can't learn any new songs because its so close....

We've already done bucket and that got a whole lot of applause. Its a real lighters-in-the-air song so we could do that as a finale maybe?? thoughts?

Yeah, Holland, 1945.

I'd say holland if you're following up a punk band. the up tempo will please the punkers in the crowd, but the soft rock will still like the poetic goodness of holland.

I actually think we're going to go first. Or maybe second, I'm not sure.

I think they are. They are indie-ish.

Muse covering Oh Comely doesn't sound too good to me, so I'll have to go for Bucket...

Bucket or Holland.

I think Holland has the more punk-esque feel to it too. so that's where my vote was.

I'm the "guitar" player for this band. One thing to take into consideration is that i've "rewritten" the song Bucket slightly. Same chords and words and everything, just arranged slightly differently (there are distortion guitars :O and bits where the guitars drop out and just let the bass play in the chorus).

So take that into consideration when you vote :D

It'll be a bit later... concert should happen within a few weeks.
