Consider them taped (unless someone objects, but the usual suspects never have before).

It pretty much is. Except that Bill Doss wasn't on their last single (on the HHBTM singles club). So I think it's more of a Will Cullen Hart thing at this point. I may be proven wrong, who knows.

sloan, will you be taping all acts (assuming nobody minds)?
el topo is correct in his assumption that it is a Will Hart project now. I wish I could go, but I have a bachelor party to attend. Have fun all!

I will probably record everything that happens once I'm there, but may not arrive at the beginning of the show. . .

It turned out not to be Black Swan Network playing after all, but rather Vortex Of Withering, which consisted of Will Hart on guitar, Andrew Reiger on guitar, Hannah Jones on drums and John Fernandes on violin. Their brief set was preceded by different CDs of OTC-y "found sounds" being played simultaneously on 2 (I think?) boom-boxes as well as the PA, to give sort of a quadraphonic sound collage.
I'm not sure exactly what the personnel differences would be between BSN and VOW, but Eric Harris mentioned that VOW plays a gig about once every 3-4 years.
Speaking of Eric, his band Diet Rockstar really lets him go crazy on the drums, in sort of a free-jazz style while manipulating tapes and other electronics at the same time. Good stuff.

3 boxes and the pa, that karaoke machine was one too. i think Will mentioned that the stuff we heard on the discs was black swan. i think he did most of the stuff for that record too. not positive though. either way that was farkin great! the Floorspace performances were really inspiring, as was the Auk Theatre. musically everything was really interesting, though i was particularly fond of (other than the headliners) the Alpha.

So I guess the CD-playing part was the part listed as BSN, and then the live performance was VOW? At the time I was thinking there must have just been a cancellation, but perhaps this is the way it was originally intended?
I guess what I ended up recording then was My Parents, Lorkakar, Paul Thomas, Diet Rockstar, Black Swan Network and Vortex Of Withering.

Cool, I hope we get to hear some of that stuff, Sloan. Although I'm sure that to be there was about 100x more exciting.

I'll have to go back and see how the Black Swan part came out; I was much closer to the PA than to any of the boomboxes, and of course with only two mics you don't get the panning effects. But if it makes an interesting listen I'll put it up.
Vortex Of Withering I'll post for certain.

Also note that most of these performances were only about 15 minutes each (~ 30 min. for Diet Rockstar) . . .
