anyone check this out? i am slightly embarassed to say that i read about them on pitchfork, but their description sounded like something i would like.
and it was right, they sound like some bands i do like, boy least likely to, polyphonic spree, and architecture in helsinki. but that is kind of why i dont like them, they are just a rip off of these other bands. i dont know though, does anyone like or dislike them?

Why would anyone be embarrassed to say that they read about them on pitchfork? I mean, it seems to me like a good way to hear about bands you might like.
That said, I really like this band, and I don't think they're a rip off. I like them because they write songs about really boring things as if they were interesting... and because possibly everyone in the band is insane.

I watched their video that was on pitchfork. The song was kinda catchy, but the video ruined it, in my opinion.
I might look into them; I dunno.

i just hate pitchfork i guess..but you are right, nothign ot be ashamed of.
half handed - they have someone who sings other than the main singer who sounds exactly like the singer from architecture in helsinki.

i love Pitchfork. i might disagree with them at times, but they are very strict on what they praise. it helps to find the real gems amongst the rot. plus, they've really gained on putting out news more everyday.

I also found I'm From Barcelona on Pitchfork, and like the songs I've heard quite a bit. I'm definitely interested in hearing more from this band.
And as far as Pitchfork is concerned: Is it good for finding great new bands? Yes, I've found quite a few. Is it a good resource for music news and finding shows? Definitely. Are the reviews fair and intelligently written. Not always, but probably more often than not. Are some of the writers major dicks? Yup.
That's my opinion in a nutshell.

This probably one of the worst band who've made it big in Sweden the last few years. I hate them with a passion (well dislike anyways). Extremely annoying music.

The name is taken from Fawlty Towers (the lead singer's name is Emanuel).

Dorks are funny though. They also have a sense of humour and don't make you feel like you have to impress them in order to fit in.
