Are they ever going to release anything? I remember awhile ago kelly saying they might record, but thqt seems like forever ago, they just played that show in athens, so any news?

Their next album, "Gerbils III" (tentative) is now in pre-production. Other than that, you'd have to ask the band yourself. Perhaps the good man of Optical Atlas could arrange for six questons with Mr.Spillane?

They had at one time been talking about changing the name of the band to "black bear" or something. In my truck's stereo, Battle of Electricity shows its artist as "Bloodletter/ Gerbils". What's that about, I wonder?

Yeah, aren't there some different track titles that show up if you put the Battle of Electricity in a CD-ROM drive? It definitely shows the original title, "Bloodletter."

I would REALLY like to interview Scott Spillane at some point...I'm working on a few other interviews at the moment.

very possibly could be another band with similar track coding for the tags. i think its just a glitch, not related to the gerbils

Actually, I remember on the old Townhall that it was announced the new Gerbils album would be called "Bloodletter," but it was changed near the album's completion...unless I'm misremembering.
