Yeah, I can't imagine OM putting out anything I wouldn't enjoy. Electronic doesn't bother me unless we're talking about something like I Am The World Trade Center.

I can't deal with that music. I understand that it is creative, but its just not my thing.

hmmm it's ok with me just as long as it doesn't turn out like hefner's "dead media"-big disappointment there-musically and lyrically.

comparing OM to any other band that started using electronics is ridiculous.

i think people freak out a little too much at the mention of electronic music.

Well, it can mean so many different things.

Like I said, I don't think there is anything that OM could put out that I wouldn't like. I believe that it can only be good...

I guess we'll just have to wait and see..

considering the amount of music of montreal puts out, it is a wonderful thing that they keep progressing as musicians and exploring different approaches. some bands would have put out cherry peel 17 times before getting the picture.

What happened to Satanic Panic in the Attic? Is this still the same album that is being worked on?

From having chatted briefly with Kevin, and from a previous post from said songwriter, I was under the impression that this was to be a double album with one half classic of montreal craziness and the other half a dark and acoustic set.

Taking that original formulae and adding this "electronic" element, whether it be instrumental or production wise, might be really interesting.

More than anything I'm excited that everybody is getting married and that they can still take time to make music. ;o]

this is interesting, i assumed people who were into E6 stuff would be more into other types of music than most people, but it seems that most of you have a stigma about electronic music.

what's the deal?

personally when it comes to electronic music, i prefer early electronic stuff from the likes of Cecil Leuter, Jean Jacques Perrey, Gershon Kingsley, and the Yellow Magic Orchestra. I just dont really care for modern electronic music.

if you want good modern electronic music you should check out "tri reptae" by autechre. it's very weird and fucked up but they get a lot of soul funkyness into it as well, at least i feel the funk anyways...

On the OM website there is a link to a place you can download the new Of Montreal track "Sad Love" if you don't already have a copy of the Pollinaire Rave disc.

There's some other good stuff on that Flirt compilation too.

Maybe they'll use electronics in the same way that Stars did on their album "Heart". That album is a pop masterpiece.
