Hi everyone, here's yet another review for the incredible Essex Green album. If you die-hard fans know of any errors, do let me know.

Great review. I think I caught one error (which is probably more of a slip)...

The low register of Ziter’s voice and his relatively stripped-down aesthetic felt foreign and tended to distract on the band’s previous releases, but here a song like “Rabbit” fits in perfectly, especially when his band mates coat the melodies with their higher-pitched vocals.

I think you meant "Baron" instead of "Ziter." Actually Chris Ziter can pitch his voice very high; Baron's is low, and he sings on Rabbit, as you probably know.

One of the better reviews I've read, thanks...

I saw another error.

Take the sundry opener “This Isn’t Farm Life,” complete with bouncing verses and versatile drumming courtesy of Tim Barnes, one of the most impressive and dead-on percussionists in the admittedly flourish-free world of folky pop.

Tim Barnes isn't drumming on the album. San Fadyl (Ladybug drummer) is credited in the liner notes so maybe he's drumming on that one.

Thanks for pointing that out. Merge just sent us a promo copy without liner notes, and I thought the drummer was still Barnes. Either way, the Ladybug Transistor guy is great, and it fits the album just fine.

I really liked Barnes' drumming, though, I saw The Essex Green live sometime in 2001 on like a Tuesday night, and I was so impressed with how skilled he was.
