i actually pretty much agreed with that review.. ultimately, i find Bedside Drama to be a lesser work in the catalog. and, SPITA is my favorite. 4 tracks, and Cherry Peel are stunning, though. don't hate me. :D

by the way bauer will release a new album very soon, recorded with a complete orchestra ?! curious what it will be like...

Man, Bedside Drama is so sadly beautiful. Probably my 3rd favorite. And I think Satanic Panic is my 3rd least favorite... There is no bad of Montreal album, though, imho.

I find Bedside Drama to be the only unlistenable album. I hate slow songs though.

I cant say I disagree wtih this review. Though I havent heard everything from the early 4 track recordings.

HEAVENLY SCHNAUSERS!!! Bauer with a full orchestra would blow my brain out of my head onto the floor. i'm serious. Bauer is quickly becoming my favorite listen recently. :)

Bedside is easily in my top three... the second half of spita is my least fav, mixed in with parts of adhils. Both of those are very hit and miss for me.

while i like it quite a bit, i'm now convinced that bedside drama was a fashionable pick in the om album survivor thing.

in that it hung on to dear life for so long? i thought the same thing. the mystique of being out-of-print or unreleased can carry a recording's credibility further then it should more often then not. i'm so glad SMILE actually turned out to be great...!

i think it was a fair and even handed review...i mean nowhere near the direct slam they gave the last marbles album....i don't know what the person who made this thread is complaining about?

oh and comparing the early 4 track recordings with tobin era gbv was a good observation i think.
