So on elephant6.com in the OTC MP3s section there's something called the Flydaddy Demos (which are fucking good). So, does anyone know what these are? When were they recorded and, especially, who was playing on them?

I'm probably really wrong, but isn't that the unreleased/unfinished post-Cubist Castle EP?

Hmm, I always thought they were exactly what it says they were...demos to get the band signed to Flydaddy.

What IS the unreleased/unfinished post-Cubist Castle EP? I've never heard of it.

The Flydaddy Demos were auto-tagged for me as the "Pre-Cubist Castle Demos" album. If anything, they're the songs that landed the OTC on the Flydaddy label before releasing Dusk at Cubist Castle the same year, 1996.

I'm wondering about who plays on it, too. Were they released before or after the Giant Day EP -- in other words, does John play on it or what?

They're terrific, by the way. I'm particularly partial to "Take the Time to Turn Around."

holding back the time your eyes looked right through the rail (???)tellin all the people not to believe me
i ate purple onions while you were gone
but the times we spend
staring at the colors
and the times we spend
