of montreal is playing a free show at my university. I found out about this at the beginning of hte semester then found out I had an economics test that same night. The doors for hte show open at 7:30, my test starts at 8:30. They say the show will fill up pretty quick so there is a chance that i will miss my favorite band playing a show in the city in which i dwell/the school which consumes my life. OH the IRONY! OH the SHAME! My school puts on this free show with my favorite band and then makes me take a test that same night!

An article was published in the school paper saying that they promise at least one big surprise tongiht. When I drove from Miami to Athens to see them for the Sunlandic Twins CD release show, the surprise was scott spilane coming up on stage and blowin' his horn. I'm afraid that the surprise could be equally amazing if not better, and I may miss it. Mr. BP Helium, if you can hear me...<<wishes he [noharshchemicals] and his girlfriend will be able to get into the show somehow>>
<<sigh>>
well enough about me
how are all you doing?

from my standpoint, you should seriously consider the option of missing out on your test and seeing the band perform. You can make up the test right? This test wont matter at all when you look back on it in 5 years from now. Even if you cant make up the test, just go.

I was thinking the same thing (and I'm a teacher for profession :) )

oh man how i contemplated the idea. this teacher's nuts though. the first class he said that missing tests was not an option. he was pretty stern about it. man i will figure out a way! I WILL! :-/

If you could'nt go. You shoulda asked a friend to tape it for you. That woulda been cool.

If and when this ever arises for my students, I promise to be cool about it. It probably helps to have a sympathetic music geek as your professor.
