actually, i'm just catching bits of it here and there. i think i prefer the winter o's to the summer. however, the thought of actually being out in the snow and ice horrifies me. i think i would make a good speed skater, though...

I also hate the summer olympics, but find the winter ones tolerable. I won't goout of my way to watch them but I can handle catching sight of them. And heck, at least it isn't snooker!

I've been watching quite a bit of curling, and I'm probably going to watch most of the hockey. Curling is really fun to watch when you know what's going on and can speculate on shots and get into it.

you have to love the flying tomato. i've watched quite a bit bit by bit. things like the louge and skiing are pretty cool but if you see one run you've seen them all. it's not long into it that i'm pretty much just hoping to see some serious wrecks. the olympics are an insomniacs dream though. it's always good to have something like that on late at night to fall asleep to. quite a few of my classmates are playing women's hockey for various countries so i'm kind of interested in that.

yes, the flying tomato is completely loveable.
and I know you guys secretly watch the ice skating. Who doesn't watch the ice skating? That's like not watching the gymnastics during the summer olympics....just plain wrong.

I might watch the hockey tournament, because I love me some hockey!
Perhaps some of the nifty skiing jumps and such, too.

I'd like to say that I don't watch it either, but I do. I can't say that I enjoy it (I hate hockey and everything it stands for), but sometimes I watch it anyways.

I was feeling kind of down and trying to talk to my father about this and he said to me, "BUT THE OLYMPICS ARE ON!!"
...
Anyway, my friend and I obsessed over The Flying Tomato our junior year so of course we watched that.
I also watched the pairs figure skating. Zhang and Zhang were amazing. I was so glad they won the silver.
And curling doesn't even seem like a real sport.

Curling does seem ridiculously difficult, however. Those stones weigh forty-four pounds, I think.

I don't doubt that it's hard, but it looks like Advanced Shuffleboard on Ice to me.

seriously, the men's figureskating is pretty fucking awesome. (the women's i can do without.) i wish somehow i could turn down the sound on the incredibly annoying announcers though. i guess i should just turn down the tv sound and listen to some random cd while i watch. but it's over now anyway.
oh and i caught some women's skeleton. first of all, any sport called 'skeleton' has to be cool. they go like 80 miles an hour down that track! head first!

Hell yes I'm wathcing the Winter Olympics. And when the summer olympics come back, I'm watching that too. Right now I'm really upset about Lindsay Jacobellis falling down on the home stretch, 3 seconds in front of 2nd, in snowboard cross.
I'm suprised that barely anybody here watching the Olympics. Everything about it is freaking beautiful. It's all about the passion, and it's the same with music.

Ah, someone mentioned jacobellis. That was disappointing, but even worse is how everyone will remember her name and not the winner's name. I mean, they used the name jacobellis in every sentence.
