Of Montreal -the Microuniversity 7 inch. This was one of the few things that survived the devastation of Hurricane Katrina (yeah I know, way to drag it out, but it really sucked and this is a true story). Right before we evacuated from New Orleans we shoved some boxes into the top of our closet, just thinking maybe if for some reason the windows blew out and rain entered our second story apartment that these items might be saved. Well, different situation. The levee which was 2 blocks from our place busted and 14 feet of water flooded up the stairs and left us covered in mold. Keeping things in a nice dark closet was a bad idea after all, and most of the Park the Van product in the closet was destroyed by mold. However, these Of Montreal records weren't. They were pristine.

This 7 inch is limited to 300 copies. Each of them, hand numbered. Most of them are being sold by Of Montreal on tour, we just have to get them the remainder of the lot. However we're putting up 77 copies for sale today for those who won't have a chance to see Of Montreal, or for the super fans who just don't want to chance it. Side A is Microuniversity, and Side B is I am a Christian's Son. Click here to purchase this 7".

I just got an email from this dude, and he linked me to his webpage, hurry up and order guys, before they run out! Only 7 dollars!

that's so cool, i think. i love when records have such stories. i have so many recordings from odd relationships and bad jobs, etc. i have a slew of cds i got from this crazy guy my friend was dating. one night he decided to sell every cd, movie, book, clothing he had for whatever you could give him. i got maybe $600 worth of stuff for $40. it was really weird, but i got a lot of great music including Neutral Milk Hotel's cds. oh, and tons of weird/awesome psychedelic rock. oh, oh, oh, and all my Beatles cds. forgot bout that.
