I swam e'm back during their fall tourin Philly. Yes they were very amazing, only problem I had was the guy next to me wiggling like a worm, and no encore. Though I'd say driving through a tunnel at 100+ mph listening to them is on par with a live show (spiritually like), though not a colourful.

Update:
So I went and saw Sigur Ros again last night in NYC. This show was sooooo much better then Philadelphia. In addition the normal 4 strings accompaniment they had a 9-piece horn section, which was amazing. They did a nice little marching action at one point. They came back for two encores Yes! This time there was no guy leaning over every few songs to say “Mono is better (he said the same thing at Explosions in the Sky. I don’t think he’ll do it for Isis though). There was a Billy Joel concert occurring at the same time at MSG and Sigur Ros was at the theater so I was distracted following friends and they end up taking us into the Billy Joel show by accident (argg) no big deal though. Natalie Portman was there but I’m not sure whom to see. Probably Billy Joel I think they are both from Long Island.
Sooooo completly good thing!
I need some sleep.

the normal four string accompanyment is actually a real band called Amina. they have an EP released called Animamina.
the last I saw Sigur Ros was in August last year and it was absolutely amazing. they plaed stuff from Takk which at the time was unreleased.
one of the very few bands I've heard that can bring their recording to their live show almost perfectly, then improvise an dmake it longer/different perfectly still.

Yes, sigur ros live is incredible. I saw them a few months ago here in seattle, and it was one of the best concerts i have ever been too.
They had 2 encores, and finished by playing the final song on untitled, which (as you can imagine if you have heard the song), ended the show so amazingly everyone i was with was speechless for about an hour following the end of the concert.

yeah, they finished with Untitled 8 at our show too, except the final climax was extended so the whole song went for like 15 minutes rather than like the 9 or 11 it normally does on record.
