This from pitchfork: "Heasley and his current band, which apparently includes a guy named Mario Lopez (Saved by the Bell!), will play a smattering of shows in the coming months, including an appearance at the Dinosaur Jr.-curated day of the All Tomorrow's Parties festival in England in May."

A.C. Slater? WTF???

Is it really the one from Saved by the Bell? Or a coincidence? Weird.

not him, at least not in his touring band. new album: not very good, am sad to say. but there are a handful of decent songs on it.

Thats a real shame :( Saved by the Bell was a real classic.

What Lilys albums are worth getting? A friend recommended them ages ago and I totally forgot to ever get them, til now. Since they're at ATP I figure I'd better isten to them before I go. The self titled oen is the easiest for me to get ahold of, is that a good 'un?

yeah, that one's ok, definitely better than the slightly different american version ("precollection"). they're all pretty good and pretty different. a fair way to break them down would probably be like this:

SHOEGAZE ALBUMS: "in the presence of nothing" and "eccsame the photon band" (i'd go with "eccsame")

BRIT INVASION ALBUMS: "better..." and "the 3-way" (some would disagree, but i prefer "the 3-way")

SO-SO LATE-PERIOD ALBUMS: "precollection" (or the re-jiggered self-titled version) and "everything imaginary is wrong" (self-titled is the best)

then there are all the singles and eps. the "welfare murder plot" 7" is great, and "services for the soon to be departed" is good too. i'd also really recommend the tiger style split ep for the amazing aspera ad astra tracks.
