probably one of the greatest sound effects of all time. dually noted as being popularized and revolutionized solely by the byrds, flanging was an everday sound that came from way up high in the sky. it's a bird, it's a plane, it's .... it's a plane! that swirling, whirling sonic whooosh that everyone hears as they pass through the clouds transformed the music world forever.

Phasers are indeed fabulous.

I'm also fond of bad-fake-autotune-vibrato. When you can't actually write songs or play instruments or sing or record, terribly awesome effects are extremely handy. Though phasing and flanging can be actually-wonderful when used by people other than myself.
