Hey, for all you Microphones fans...
If Phil suddenly decided to start a cult,
would you join?
It'd probably pretty exciting.
He'd probably sit everyone outside and make them walk in the dark and sit in the water and stuff. And then at the end they'd have to like hunt a polar bear to make themselves a true member of the cult or something.
Ah, sorry for the post, i'm just excited for his concert (in his hometown in Anacortes!) That i'm going to this Saturday. I'm visiting Mt. Eerie too (hopefully will spend the night there if i can convince my buddies going with me to do so...)

Not if I would have to hunt polar bears, and not if it was for life, but I'd be in a cult like that part time.

Yeah, I'd be in it. Although I'm not sure what to make of his new things.

Finally! A member! Also, although I'd agree that his new stuff really doesn't have much musical worth at all. However, his lyrics still are inspired, and after reading the huge handout that came with the vinyl version of No Flashlight, it shows that his career as a poet still has some worth.
And as for Anacortes being a dump... sure it's not a place that would attract tourists, and isn't really 'beautiful' by any means, but it has a sort of surreal abandonded feel. I stayed a couple nights there over the summer, and it feels like a ghost town. Again, not a good place to honeymoon or anything, but a pretty interesting experience nontheless.

I'm a HUGE fan of The Microphones/Mount Eerie, but Phil's been getting on my nerves lately. Did anyone else hear '11 Old Songs Of Mount Eerie'?
