i agree sorta.

but handsome western states is a really good album.

and it's a good sound to have, generically speaking.

Beulah is a band..not a function of E6.
And they're the breeziest bunch of popsters that my ears have ever bathed in.

You should question yourslef when you say things like this. Love the bands, not the associations.

Generic? Of course not.

Not weird like some E6 bands? Absolutely. I think Beulah would have suffered if they tried to sound like the Gerbils, the Olivia Tremor Control or others. The fact is, the Ladybug Transistor don't sound very "E6" either, if we're going to generalize.

And read Harnk's post above mine, it's spot on.

Heh heh, I don't find Beaulah generic at all, maybe they wear their influences more clearly than some other bands but I sure don't mind that because the world always needs cheerful summery pop songs :P
