Last night I decided that I needed to listen to Coquelicot on my expensive studio headphones. It was one of the best musical experiences of my life. Everything is mixed (and recorded, performed, and composed) perfectly. The movement in the stereo field is so interesting and exciting. This event had me exploding in smiles and I suggest that everybody tries it out. I plan on listening to the rest of the albums like this as soon as I get the time. It is necessary to absolutely nothing but listen during this activity. Wow, thank you so much Of Montreal.

Absolutely!
How expensive are we talking here? Mine are Shure E2C's and they're pretty damn nice (and noise-blocking), but I'm aware that they're meek and trebly compared to some people's equipment.

I almost only listen to OTC with headphones. It's funny, I think more people would be fans of them if they had better sound systems or only listened on good headphones. OTC sound like a glitchy, less interesting, kinda trippy circa-1999 Apples in Stereo on cheap speakers, but are like melted chocolate on a nice pair of headphones.

Not too expensive (but I think they are), but they were $100 Sont Studio headphones. I like them a lot. I am going to listen to OTC right now on headphones... well only some OTC. I am going to go with Black Foliage as I feel the headphonage will be great and I want a time to listen to ALL of Dusk at Cubist Castle as I adore it so.

i think it's weird how headphones are usually either pretty cheap ($15) or go all the way up to super pricey ($100+). there's almost no middle ground.
i usually use these $25 ones that sound much closer to the expensive ones than the cheap, but are probably a little easier to damage w/ wear and tear. i just wish there was like a $50 deal.. and the expensive ones i've tried start to hurt your head sometimes too b/c they're so tight. sigh

half-handed, just curious - i was reading up on those Grado SR-60s and these cons stuck out in customer reviews - "headphones don't stay on well if looking down/moving around, are too tight after extended periods of time & not a great bass sound overall"
i'd be interested in your take b/c if i'm recording music with these all 3 of these criticisms would be fairly crucial. ? obviously for the price it sounds like they're generally a great deal..
thanks!

I am a self-recording musician who writes and records my own records at home on gear similar to OM's setup so I know what I'm talking about. This thread is a perfect example of why I laugh when I read reviews and articles calling the E6 bands (especially AIS, OTC, NMH,and OM) "lo-fi". THAT IS SUCH A JOKE!!! If these records aren't HI-FI nothing is. Kevin Barnes makes better produced records in his bedroom than so-called "producers" in million dollar studios in LA. And everything Robert touches turns to gold...
