so i chatted with scott spillane for a minute at the subterranean and asked him about the new album. he said they've recorded some stuff but it probably wouldn't come out for another three years (i think he was joking). he did say though that he thought they were going to change the name to black bear on accounta every single person, he says, that comes up to him makes a joke about having sex with gerbils and he was a little less than amused with it at this point. he said that even at the 40 watt they made the posters for the gerbils show with a picture of richard gere (apparently he had sex with gerbils). poor guy, if it's not questions about neutral milk hotel it's about sex with gerbils. anyhow, black bear seems like a pretty cool name.

Thanks for asking him about the new album; I wanted to ask him that too last Friday but didn't get a chance. I certainly hope it comes out sooner than he anticipates. Less than 2 years would be good.

that would be a cool name......i actually never thought of the sex reference when i heard the gerbils.....

and 3 years is far too long........1 year is far too long......i need mor e gerbils.....errrrr.....black bear!
