I guess this is gonna end up being one of those "OMG!!! Aeroplane is like so totally awesome and has like changed my life!!!" posts. I apologize now

But I still wonder, how does Aeroplane do it? I was just up in my room, crying. My grandmother, whom I'm very close to, has but a few hours to live and the whole situation had just really hit me for the first time. So looked through my meager collection of records so as to listen to something that I could relate to and would take my mind off stuff. I put on side two of Aeroplane. By the end of Two-Headed Boy, Part 2, not only had I stopped crying but I felt almost totally fine; as fine as one can feel.

And yet, when I think back to one of the greatest moments in my life, when this girl, who I've totally been in love (also my best friend) for a couple of years, and I decided to start a relationship. Awesome day. That night I wandered around campus just soaking everything in and I listed to Aeroplane, and once again, the album was the perfect compliment to my mood and again it seems as if somebody was beside me sharing in how I felt.

How does Aeroplane do that? How can an album be the soundtrack to both the best and worst moments of one's life? It is truely an indication of the power of Jeff Mangum's songwriting, in my mind, that he is able to acomplish that on just one 40 minute work of music.

Yeah, so I'm done. Thanks for letting me share that.

But it's not perfect. It's human. Isn't that the point?
