Does anybody else think that it'd be kind of strange to listen to In the Aeroplane Over the Sea with added bonus tracks? It seems to me as if adding bonus tracks would almost ruin the conciseness, and the flow of the album, if you get me. Whereas Avery Island sounds more like it was just cobbled together (in the best sense of the phrase), and therefore bonus tracks would suit it perfectly, it seems like more care was taken with Aeroplane, so it was more of a whole, where Avery Island was a sum of parts. I suppose the bonus tracks would feel almost clumsy if they were tacked on the end of the album...

yeah, hopefully any bonus tracks will be included on a bonus disc, not tacked on directly after the album.

even if there are bonus tracks for the aeroplane reissue, they will probably be utterly boring, like "engine" and other previously released stuff. i'd expect better bonuses on a US reissue, but this seems to be just a standard no-frills reissue because the album has been out of print in the UK, apparently. hopefully i'm wrong, though...i'm still hoping to hear "ferris wheel on fire" as attempted at the aeroplane sessions.

I didn't read the major label bit, which is kind of odd, as it's in the middle of the sentence. If you take that bit out, you can kind of see what I was getting at. But the point is, it's there. So never mind. :)

i doubt there will be any bonus tracks on aeroplane, although if the studio version of oh sister was thrown in somewhere, that'd be incredible. that's the only real acceptable change that could be made, i think.

Yeah, the Pavement reissues are great. But ease up on Geffen. Look at the "deluxe" Dirty by Sonic Youth. That's packed with trax. The Blue Album deluxe sux because Rivers is lame and only allowed a few (mostly boring, previously released) bonus tracks. The omission of "theif, you've taken all that was me" and "let's sew our pants together" while including weaker tracks from the same demo tape is unforgivable!

A little reworking of the tracklistings, the way J wanted them to be in the first place. Such as YLAOM losing "Show me the way" (thank you!). I still have yet to get them, I already have the originals of course. But being a huge fan, it's certain I'll get them soon.

Side note: Just saw them on Wednesday in Detroit, lost my frikkin' mind! I'll post the setlist if anyone is interested. Until then, I'll quit the highjacking of this thread.
