As all or most of you already know, Jeff Mangum loves Anne Frank. What does everyone think about the general idea of loving someone who died before you were even born? Is it the kind of thing that's happened to many people before? This has been on my mind for a while and that's why discovering the Anne Frank thing was a real relief, a godsend for me. I like that Jeff Mangum made it okay to talk, write, sing about those kinds of feelings. The few people I've personally tried to talk to about the issue seem to be very uncomfortable with the concept and don't think it's even possible...I'd like to hear the opinions of some NMH fans, and how they reacted to those parts of the songs.

I think it's more of the thought about the person than actually loving them. I don't know.

It's not like he was user her for material, i mean, he was so deeply in love/obsessed with her that he was dreaming about her and her family.

It all depends on how you take the way to remeber those who passed before us...

i don't think he's in lover with her at all, just really intrested in her life, and her circumstances. Somtimes shit just grabs you. Because if you think about it, you can't really explain why something causes you to create, it just does. You see something in it, that no one else does.

Why do you want to slap her? She makes a valid point.

because "Jeff Mangum loves Anne Frank" is one of the most ignorant things a person can say?

there's a lot of things wrong with the "Jeff Mangum loves Anne Frank" statement, some of which involve ignorance. i think a harnk-smack is deserved.

Yet the fact that it's true means nothing?
