any news on this at all? are you going to release it anytime soon? i for one sure hope so. i love wild hemmling but i'm already jonesing for some more.

i noticed that "bumping cocoanuts" is the only song off wild hemmling from 2002, it's also quite possibly my favorite off the album. i believe i've played that song consecutively more then i've played any other song, ever. if the rest of the songs from that year are of the same quality then i'm really looking forward to this next album.

hey thanks. "la guerre" is a 72 minute stream-of- conciousness piece that's made of stuff i recorded 1985 -2002. it's jazzy, noisy and funny but not too poppy at all. if i can sell a few more wild hemmlings i'll release it.

bumping cocoanuts is one of three songs i wrote over a two day span in late 2002 and submitted for consideration for a series of commercials for kohl's dept. stores. there was an opportunity presented to me (and a few other folks) to submit songs written in the vein of the apples in stereo for the commercials. at the time robert was out of town and i didnt realize he was being offered the same opportunity! we weren't really competing (although i dint know it at the time) as kohl's was gonna use his songs, but they wanted to have some back-ups in case his submissions sucked. well he came home and heard my songs an turned out three really incredible tunes (not that he wouldn't of anyway but it really got him goin) and got the gig. my songs def have a lot of subtle sarcasm in em so they prob wouldn't have wanted them anyhoo. i've posted the other two songs (Kohl's #3 is a really rough version but features a great solo by mike snowden of the high water marks) for your listening pleasure at:

the reason there arent more songs from 2002 is because i have a whole album i've never finished (most of the basic tracks are done) because our 16 track tape deck has been broken since 2002. someday...

damn mr panighetti i was wonderin bout you. the post office didnt have vonhemmling listed as a recipient on my po box (they just had my name even though i tried to make the situation clear when i bought the box, i found this out last thurs.). no worries though, i'll mail your cd monday, if you get your payment back you can re-send it, if not don't sweat it. sorry dude. jim
