thanks hc, after all these years i am finally complete! seriously though i think it's interesting that e6 is still a living entity even after the backlash of four or five years ago and the retiring of the logo. the original ideals still serve as the soil from which many varied, beautiful flowers grow. jim

there was a backlash in the indie press. went from praising e6 as eccentric outsiders to castigating for being hipper than thou.

e6 publishing is just the name robert has used for a long time for business purposes. has nothing to do with any reality beyond that. the point i was making in an earlier post is that e6 has continued to exist as it always has-as a different thing to different people (be they band people or fans or journalists). that is wonderful. to me e6 is robert, jeff, will and bill; with myself and hilarie to a slightly lesser extent. i came along right when things were beginning to coalesce and strangely enough had grown up doing the same thing they were doing. i pointed out the "backlash" because at that time things seemed to be becoming too serious and no one really wanted that. anyway, if this is the "ask jim" section that's great but remember you are only gettin my opinion or limited knowledge (i'm a neurotic homebody who's never even been to athens!). jim

the first four albums rock! diver down was the beginning of the end. i even bought 1984 when it came out but by that time my war had been released so that was it for my intense vh/zep phase. jim

there's a version of "eat em and smile" that dave sang entirely in spanish. i'd love to hear it, especially "yankee rose."
