I know Kindercore has undergone a lot of changes. I am just wondering if of Montreal will stay on Kindercore or will seek a new label like Merge or something? Just Curious.

From what I hear on the grapevine they are looking for a new label or starting their own. To bad I really wanted to release their new album.

maybe they'll cut out the middleman and just release their next album themselves. Would you NOT buy it if it was released on cd-r, even?

I would buy it no matter how it came out! :D
did kindercore jump on the garge/hardcore thing thats going around lately? i hadnt checked out the site in a while and was surprised to see the new look and the word KINDERCORE with a skull in it. not that i dont enjoy that music but thought the label was mainly a pop oriented outfit. dunno if of montreal really fits the skull and spikes image.

oh yeah, kindercore has made the skull and spike change....it'll be interesting to see if they get more popular because of it.

Kindercore is a crummy name for a garage label.
They need to change their business name to Bandwagonjumpercore, like, pronto.

Kindercore distribution seems pretty lousy. Bar/None may not have given Of Montreal a favorable deal, but those are the albums I usually see in the stores. So good riddance Kindercore.

I thought Kindercore was bigger than Bar/None, it seems that way.

Bar/None is bigger than Kindercore. They've released albums by They Might Be Giants, Evan Dando, Langley School Music Project, Yo La Tengo and more I'm forgetting.
Kindercore is lame - they can't keep their bands around and happy. Essex Green left. Japancakes left. Of Montreal are leaving. And this whole skull thing is just stupid.
Do they think that the agenda will be as big as the strokes or hives? No way.
Screw Kindercore. Go Bar/None!!!

I've heard of them, but I haven't found an album yet! Their music is really really good. I've been looking but I can't find. I guess I'll have to try and order some stuff.

I think Call and Response might be signed to Badman now. I saw something about it on the Badman site.

"We are happy to announce that our next record will be recorded and
released by the wonderful people at Badman Recording Co. We hit it off during the recording for the Bread tribute compilation, and mutual ideas to work together naturally developed. We plan to start recording the tracks in September with Dylan Magierek, who has recorded Mark Kozelek, Paula Frazer, James William Hindle, and other talented artists. We plan to release the record next spring. "
so it seems the band is switching labels with each release. kindercore, followed by emperor norton, and now bandman.
and all i want is their album on vinyl...
it seems like that is too much to ask of this world.
