so, yeah. it's a week and a day until I get to see Modest Mouse AND Camper van Beethoven... i'm quite pumped. pumped to the point of tears, nearly. i hope Modest Mouse plays a lot of their older stuff...

i would be more excited about seeing camper van than modest mouse, but i wont be in the country when they play here. (new york)

Yeah, Modest Mouse are GREAT on record, but live they're not so good.

oooh... that's disappointing. i'm sure I'll still have a grand time though. it's a good excuse to get really, really high if nothing else.
camper van beethoven is what sealed the deal for me. if it had not been for them, i probably would not have had the ambition to get the tickets and such.

my friend sold coke to them when they played in our town..this basically is the extent of my modest mouse knowledge

i'm hoping you're talking about the delicious brown soft drink
while i personally am only a fan of the later, i didn't happen to be speaking of the cola.
p.s.-anyone see that pepsi "lime" is out now, convieniantly rite after coke....pepsi has made an empire out of following around big brother cocacola

after seeing modest mouse 3 times, i have to agree that its nothing great live
and this is all pre-moon and antarctica too. when they were good.
pepsi is the fox of soft drinks.
how so?

last time i saw modest mouse, isaac brock and i smoked a fat bowl
he was telling me about how he got this girl from florida pregnant, and how he hates caviar. turns out that girl lives in portland now....and i know her. so it was weird times. that was like 3 years ago though

i heard that he's been convicted or at least tried for raping a girl and that during tours modest mouse has been known for trying to see how many dogs they could run over :-\

yeah, they have issues but the music sure is good....the early stuff at least [proceeds to rock out to "Never Ending Math Equation"].

yeah they're not exactly people i'd want to hang out with. but i enjoy their music. except the last album, which mostly blows.

well... i just returned from the show. wow. camper van beethoven is even better live than on their albums... when I heard the weird, violin intro to "Pictures of Matchstick Men" I nearly cried, I was so overcome by how far out this whole experience was.
Modest Mouse wasn't bad, but they weren't that great either. all in all, i enjoyed CVB a lot more than modest mouse... still a great show though.

i saw modest mouse a couple months ago and it was a lot better than i expected. as far as the hitting-dogs-thing goes, that was from a real old interview where they were all fucked up on something. i think i remember reading a more recent interview where issac denied all of that and said it was stupid to believe them back then.
