it's OK. Other than "Mr. Clay" it's fairly average. "Mr. Clay," though, is amazing.

getting better in terms of solo stuff or getting better in general?

certainly not in solo stuff. Fiction Man blows Zoom away (granted, the latter is only an EP, but still). Both are better than HSoTD, however.

you didn't like Half Smiles? it's not their best, but still amazing. my personal favorite out of all of the GBV or solo stuff is Pollard's Choreographed Man of War. have you heard it?

Half Smiles...Half Smiles. Let's cut to the chase--it's my least favorite GBV (yes, even worse than Sandbox, even worse than Do the Collapse). I don't really like it at all. It has 2 songs I like maybe.

As far as solo stuff, Choreographed Man of War is very strong. I'd say it's probably the 3rd best side project. 1-5:

"zoom" is really good. my favorite on that ep might be "catherine from mid-october". too beautiful!
