Going to a Sam Prekop show on saturday. Anyone ever seen him live?

here's a lil' review to refresh your memory-

A longtime pillar in the Chicago underground community and architect of the post-rock sound, Sam Prekop first gained notoriety at the helm of Shrimp Boat before becoming the leader of the Sea and Cake, whose fusion of styles both in and out of rock was both creative and experimental while remaining highly listenable." -- All Music Guide ...Five years after he stepped out of the tall shadow of his other band, The Sea And Cake, Prekop returns with another pop masterpiece of breezy, crisp, offbeat pop perfection with Who's Your New Professor. Features Archer Prewitt, Chad Taylor, Rob Mazurek and Josh Abrams.

Hmm, never seen Sam Prekop, but I saw Archer Prewitt recently and found it boring (especially since he played right after Marbles).

Prekop's performance was anything but boring. His drummer and bass player were awesome. They kept just busting out and jamming, at one point his drummer was playing his kit bare-handed, like bongos. Crazy mother.

i was horribly disappointed with archer prewitt. i thought his music and performance were painfully boring. then again i was a fan of his comic sof boy, which is is the funniest comic ever written, before i heard his music so i was expecting that the comic would somehow just be translated into music. if you've never read sof boy, do yourself a damn favor.
