. . . when you can't waste any more time surfing the internet on work time, but you can't bear to engage in the pointless tasks of which your job consists? What to do? My oft-deliberated options are: make another cup of tea; go and chat to some people around the office; sit on the toilet and fall asleep.
I should be spending my time more productively than this. But doing what?

Perhaps, instead of using work time to waste time, use it to create something. Write an astounding novel of somesort, or perhaps craft an army of bouncy rubber band people.

The bathroom is definitely the best place at work.....till some nasty lady comes in and blows the place up, in the stall right next to you, ugh.

I used to work at a soul-sucking, heart-attack inducing (calorically) donut conglomerate (too vile to name...not Starbucks) and I quickly realized that if I hung out with the mentally challenged guy that they wouldn't expect me to do much of anything. And since there were no monetary incentives to work hard, what was the point?

Back when I use to do data entry, I use to just stare at co-workers I didn't know. Most of the time, people were like "what?" in a shy why-are-you looking-at-me-like-that way. It usually led to some sort of conversation, which made the hours go away. Some of the people thought I was a total creep though. Fun times.
