wow, my mom wouldnt stop bugging me about it, and i gave in and decided to ask a girl who upon asking her goes "are you serious". and i was really nervous, and it hurt and that was also today, and despite being a jr. that was the first time i asked a girl to prom or homecomming or anything so i was ultra nervous.... o well.... in my opinion all the jazz of prom and all that is lame... (sorry if im whiny, but hey im sad) sorry that didnt answer nothing but... i feel alittle better now...

If anyone needs a prom date, I would absolutely go with you.
I did not go to my prom, which was last year, and I have yet to feel a single wiff of regret. However, proms are not such a big deal in here.

i skipped my prom, went and watched super size me, and then afterwards bought on avery island. it was my first introduction to neutral milk hotel. i bumed money off my friend to afford it. yep. no regrets what so ever. i'll take neutral milk over a hundred dollar rental tux and a really crappy music with a bad date anyday.

I went to both my Jr. and Sr. proms. Both with guys who were just friends and we had a really good time. I was definetly not a popular kid, but we had fun acting goofy and doing our own thing. My senior year, however, my date ended up with food poisoning and had to go to the hospital.
But if you go with someone you can have fun with, it is fun. I haven't been that dressed up since... well, except my wedding day.

I orginally had no plans on going to any of my proms. I didn't go to my junior prom when I was a junior. Or my senior prom when I was a senior. I did, as a senior, go to the junior prom and I'm so glad I did cause this girl who I had a huge crush on asked me if I wanted to go so I said yes. Long story short, I fell in love for the first time and she was my first ever serrious relationship. Since it all started with prom, I'm so glad I went. Oh, then she dumped me a few months ago. First girl to ever break my heart too. So I guess the moral of the story is....i don't know. But go to prom, it was fun and you'll never have the chance to go again.

Hahaha. It's funny how people get drunk and it strikes them to post on message boards, of all things.
I didn't want to my senior prom go, at all, originally, but caved in to peer pressure. I'm going with my friend rather than some guy I hardly know. We might just end up taking the T since stretch Hummers are disgusting (and $100 is a disgusting amount for a twenty minute ride, anyway, yes?). And paulpaul, that girl sounds like a complete asshole.

i went to my senior prom last night and i had a good time. i danced a whole lot then i went to a casion and won myself some money. i dont understand the negative stigma around the whole thing. it was a pretty fun experience.

My proms were all complete fucking nightmares. I strongly recommend not going.

at the time i considered prom the antithesis of my punk ideals...so i skipped both of them, i was even asked to the senior prom (by this time i was home schooled) and i turned her down....two years ago i saw her working in a movie theater, she was married and pregnant, i gave my congrats and then she asked me why i turned her down....5 years later! awkward to the say the least.
I didn't go and I do not regret it one bit. I play at a local all ages club in my town at the Punk Prom instead. I had way more fun and didn't have to pay a cent or hear bad music all night...and I have had 9 years to develop regret if I wanted to!

I went stag and danced with my friends. It was okay. Me and my sweetheart wish we'd known each other back then so we could have gone to prom together and gayed up the place.

yeah, well it was with my ex-girlfriend (not ex at the time) of 4 years.
i only went to one dance when i was in highschool and that was homecoming in the 9th grade. then i realized i dropped over $100 on a crappy dinner and a dance which was in the cafeteria of the highschool. and all they played was bad 90s music. i rather just sit at home with my girlfriend and listen to records, which is what happened. oh yeah....and sex

I never had a prom. I was home-schooled. It was bad enough I had to wear a dress to my Southern-Baptist graduation ceremony! If I could have I probably would have gone in a tux, just for shock-value. I never regret not having a prom, so I wouldn't sweat it too much.
