View Full Version : sasha bell
I'm curious to know if anyone has seen any of the shows that Sasha Bell has been performing. And if they have i would love to hear some opinions or highlights of some of her solo stuff.

I caught one of her Finishing School gigs at the Knitting Factory and it was excellent. The lineup was Sasha, Jeff Baron, Julia Rydholm, a drummer -- not sure who he was but he was great -- and a friend on synths who apparently didn't know the tunes.
The set was only about 30 minutes, but it was fantastic. The music is much like Sasha's songs with the Essex Green with a country-ish element (not as much as Sixth Great Lake). For the most part, very upbeat, fun music.
The last song of the set was a rousing cover of Mendocino which I was singing the whole way home.

Chris Z. was the mytery synth player...on the first two nights (July 3, 10), at least.
Shows were great...basically it was the album straight through and a cover of Mendocino by the Sir Douglas Quintet.
Best,

Sasha mentioned that the synth player on 7/17 was filling in since Chris Z. couldn't make it. Explains why the guy didn't know the songs.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the bonus DVD that is going to come with the Finishing School CD was finished today and it has come out great. There's two videos (for Destination Girl and Hair), a behind the scenes segment of making the album, and some great live footage from the Knitting Factory shows.
Starting September 23rd, You'll be able to get the CD and DVD for a mere $11.98 at your finer record stores and a little less on the Telegraph website.
We're really looking forward to this release and thank you all for your support!
great news! can't wait to hear and see ...
